  • Hi, I am trying to access to some BBS or even (I am a dreamer I know) the www but I can't find a suitable Browser or a software to connect the a500 using x-surf500.

The only software that MAYBE useful seems to be Amtelnet or Amtelnet II but there is no way to buy a licence (the company and the website are disappeared) and the version on aminet last only 15 minutes because is a demo.

Any suggestion? I need a way to use that beautiful card.

    Thanks

  • Hi Capitan_zzap,

Unfortunately dctelnet give me an error program failed error 80000004, wait for disk activity and I can only press suspend or reboot.

The other two I have no idea how they works. Term 4.8 have no executable files.

Can you be so gentle to give me more tips about and, if it is possible, an example to how it works?

    Kind regards

  • Yeah, DCTelnet needs an 68020 or higher.

As for Term, there is an executable in the mentioned archive, please look again.

I haven't done this myself, since I'm simply using a nullmodemcable, but it should work like this: tcpser configured in the right way, should create a virtual serial.device which actually serves as a gateway to a telnet connection. Term needs then to be configured to use this virtual serial.device.
