  • Morning,

Just a quick question after reading the documentation on P96 to clarify how it works.

I chose the supplied Native chipset driver during the install on my Amiga 1200 with AGA chipset. OS 3.2.2.1. Is there any further config needed to activate the blitter replacement functions here or do they just “work” when the Native driver is in Monitors? Is there anyway to easily verify whether the function is installed and set up correctly?

Can/should Ftext/Blazewcp be used alongside it?

Finally, is there any functional difference between the supplied Native driver and the one available from Aminet: https://aminet.net/package/driver/moni/Native

Sorry if they’re daft questions but I’m confusing myself with it.

  • If you choose the new screenmode, the functions should be active, yes.

I wouldn't expect this to work.

No idea, sorry. I don't check files on Aminet that often, and I don't even know who uploaded that file.

  • Thank you for the reply!

Should I be seeing a new screenmode with the Native driver in there? I thought it just applied to the existing ones.

Noted on Ftext/Blazewcp and the file on Aminet, I have no idea how it’s different to the one you provide

  • No new screenmodes,
    a) it moves blitterfunctions to cpu (faster)
    b) allocates bittmaps to fastram (much more chipram left)
    c) works systemfriendly (no hack)

  • Sorry for calling this "New screenmode" - I should have written "when P96 is activated with those settings".
