The application itself doesn't run when you've loaded a game, so you need to use the possibilities of the bare hardware.
The good news is that we've already thought of a request like this: If there are multiple modes in the list that fit the current output, you can cycle though them by going to live config mode, and press "x" until the saved mode is applied.
