  • I wanted to check if possible to still use the A1200 clock port if ACA1234 one is populated. Obviously, you can't use 2 RTC modules but wanted to check if possible to use RTC module on 1 port and something else on the other. Also, does it matter whether the RTC module is on the ACA1234 or the A1200?

  • Yes, that's possible:

    - RTC module can be used internally or externally, doesn't matter.

    - standard clock port stuff can be used on internal clock port no matter what. Caution: Whenever something is connected there, the IDE speeder may produce unwanted results.

    - non-RTC clock port devices on the ACA1234 clock port are at a different, non-conflicting address, so they can be used in addition.

I generally recommend to only use clock port devices that do NOT use a cable. If a device has a cable, it should be retired.
