  • When would you guess you will have these boards ready and for sale?

I'd love to say "before Xmas", but as you can see, I'm doing weekend shifts to dig through current projects. I do have testing that other RF transistor type on the agenda for tomorrow. That's only a small part, though. It's going to require rather special circuit board handling, such as castellated holes, so soldering will be fairly easy.

I'm really looking forward to this. I hope it will eliminate the ghosting/smearing. I also heard rumors of a new firmware/software for the ECS V2 being worked on

Yes, that's scheduled for this coming week. Did you see the intermediate config tool update? Wiki is currently down, working on the VM that runs the database.. hope that'll be back to life during this weekend.

Very nice. Looking forward to that aswell. I have noticed the page is down. So I have not tried that config tool update yet. Will be watching regularly to see if the page is back

  • Hi,

I installed my Indi ECS V2 in my A500 a few weeks ago. From the first moment I have ghosting, blending on the screen. I have already tried several VGA cables (cheap, expensive, long, short) The problem remains the same. I also have it on all resolutions (lowres, hires, hires laced, highgfx).

When I connect the VGA cable to the RGB port, I do have a sharp image without ghosting.

If I connect this monitor (BenQ BL702a) to my A1200 with Indi AGA MK3, I also have a very sharp image.

Sometimes it is really annoying when playing demos and games. Here a link from Pinball Fantasies https://youtu.be/zLHX5wp6XX4

Is there already a solution to get the quality of the image right? For the first time, I am really disappointed.

  • I get the exact same ghosting both on the ECS V2 and the TC64 V2. They came out at the same time and seem to have the same weakness. I know Jens is working on adapter boards to try and get rid of the ghosting for ECS V2 and TC64 V2. But he said he might not get it CE approved so no promises he said.

I find this ghosting very distracting and am also dissapointed. Hoping for a solution.

I really hope the adapter will be CE approved,

Now I use a background for the Workbench screen, the ghosting is still there but it’s less visible. For games and demo’s I’m using the scanlines option now but that don’t really helps.

All the other hardware I have from Jens for my Amiga’s are superb, only this ECS V2 needs a solution. 🙏

Not only the ECS V2. TC64 V2 needs the same fix. You probably don't have that one. And I agree, other than those I am really happy with all other Indivision products I have bought.

Have on my two BenQ BL702A monitors no ghosting with the Indivision ECS V2. Have AOS 3.1.4.1 with BestClassicWB 1.5 and also with BestWB 1.3. Run PAL High Res Laced 16 colors. Games and the Demos run smooth. Maybe I had lucky with it. Would be great to see the difference with the adapter.

Maybe I can help you with the settings with the monitor and the Indivision ECS V2.

Maybe you could show us your 'VGA Mode screen' in Indivision tool aswell so we can have a look at your pixel clock and everything

Edit: I also have two BenQ BL 702As. Also have a BL 912. When did you buy your ECS V2? I bought mine just after they were released. I believe late 2018 or early 2019.

  • Bought the ECS V2 on the 15th of November 2020, running the latest update from the wiki-page.

I have also two BenQ BL702A's, ghosthing on both of them with the ECS V2. No ghosting when I connect both to my A1200 with the Indi AGA MK3.

I tried everything I think, AOS 3.0, AOS 3.1.4, all kinds of resolutions, different VGA-cables, played with pixel clock and phase of the monitor,... I got always the ghosting.

Yeah, I also tried to lower the pixel clock as much as possible, short or long VGA cables, high quality cables or low quality cables, different monitors and so on. Makes no difference. The ghosting does not improve at all with a lower pixel clock.

I even tried the VGA cable that is directly connected to the ECS V2 and swapped it with the ones from my ECS V1s. Made no difference. My ECS V1s has no noticeable ghosting and a sharper picture.

TC64 V2 has the exact same problem. I wouldn't mind a less sharp picture if the ghosting/shadowing was not there. But it's very distracting having those shadows/ghosting on the right side of objects. More or less depending on the colours.

The video posted by Phil further up shows the problem very clearly. Video of Ghosting

I am starting to believe more that we will not get a solution here and unfortunately we will have to live with this. Of course I would much rather have seen it differently. Also few reactions from the people of Individual Computers about this problem.

But of course I keep hoping ...

Sorry for keeping you waiting, but administrative work has been crazy the past six weeks. Not only that Brexit is causing lots of extra work to comply with the "deal" that GB signed with the EU, but yesterday the tax advisor whom I've been working with for over 25 years can't work for us any more because he needs to take care of his parents. So yet another pile of work on top.

Rest assured that I won't forget this. There will be a day when I can get back to development.

Shall this week show the VGA Mode screen. I’m busy with the TC64 V1 which Games and Demos work and which not.

Have buy the Indivision ECS V2 here by iComp 23 September 2020. Have use the Indivision ECS V1 for years and I’m very happy with the Indivision ECS V2. Would have the BenQ BL912 for my two Indivision AGA MK2CR to test the DVI.

My two BenQ BL702A monitors are from 2018.

Maybe my VGA Mode screen will help you, Phil. Should be strange if there is difference between the Indivision ECS V2’s. Use the BestClassicWB 1.5 and also the BestWB 1.3 for the best use of the AOS 3.1.4.1. You see on my pictures that the picture is razor sharp with my Indivision ECS V2 on the BenQ BL702A monitor.
