  • I've encountered a problem connecting my SuperPad64-adapter to my Reloaded MK2.

When the adapter is connected the C64 starts with the following picture:

The 64 is not jammed and runs, you can see the cursor blinking.

No other peripherals or modules were connected, it's only the naked C64 with the adapter. This doesn't happen with my original C64C which shows the normal startup screen.

So much for the introduction - which additional tests should I make, what information is missing? :)

Changed the title of the thread from “SuperPad64 an MK2 Problem” to “SuperPad64 with MK2 issue”.
  • I first had to look up what "SuperPad64" actually is - it's a SNES-to-userport adapter from Polyplay.xyz

I would not expect this adapter to do anything magical, but merely use some IO pins and 5V from the user port. Since there's not much you can do wrong, my first guess would be a defective CIA chip, which switches to a different VIC-bank when the user port is loaded.

This part of the schematics is identical with the original C64, so a component failure (CIA#2) is the most likely cause.
