  • Hello,

I am using the rapidroad with x-surf 100 on a zorro 3 system. Amiga 4000.

Would like to know if I can use the same board (Rapidroad) on the 1233N accelerator card in an Amiga 1200.

Have a spare pc usb cable. Attached photo.

Any problems? Is it safe? And it will be as fast as in the A4000?

    Thank you in advance

  • If you have the "RapidRoad for X-Surf-100", i.e. the version that comes without insulator and without clock port cable, then this will not work. On the first attempt to use the clock port, RapidRoad will see that it's not licensed and cease operation (LED turns off). You need to buy the clockport version for use with an A1200.

  • OK,

if I buy this one you mentioned and connect directly on the ACA1233N accelerator, it will be as fast as in the zorro3 system?

    Thank you

No, not at all. The ACA1233n's local clock port is faster than the internal clock port of the A1200, but the performance of a Z3 system cannot be reached. I don't have real-world performance data, but you should be able to find a few performance tests in other forums such as a1k.org or eab.

  • Thank you very much for the info. I will think about it. There are two itens in my buying list, it is the ACA1221LC for the ACA500plus and this one for the A1200.

  • For installation in the A600 with A604n, you also need the clock port version. The X-Surf-100 version really ONLY works on the X-Surf-100 card.
