Seems like Chameleon V2 doesn't support 32GB (and probably more) SD cards at all.
It does - there is no size restriction at all, even SDXC cards (64GB or larger) can work - if the inrush current at init time stays within acceptable limits (which doesn't seem to be the case for these cards).
That said, you can fit pretty much all C64 software there is on much smaller cards
-
I am out of ideas - unless Jens has an idea what else to try, we'll have to take a look at that unit.
-
Please try if it is reliably detected when no keyboard is detected. If not, then it might be a defect of some sort.

You're operating Keyrah on the antistatic foam.
Yeah, thats not a good idea - that foam is conductive!

When i have had this kind of problem, i could always track it down to one of these:
a) Contact problems. This mostly happens with my older V1 chameleon, and can usually be solved by cleaning the cards contacts with alcohol. Sometimes a bit of wiggling in the slot is needed to make it work
b) The card just plain refuses to initialize due to excess inrush current. This only happens with the V2 chameleon, and i have only ever seen it with 64GB SDXC cards (which aren't supported to begin with).
Does your chameleon work at all, with smaller/other SD cards? Or is this a general problem?

Just a quick one, i shouldnt even be looking here on Sunday evenings
First check if the Keyrah generally works - disconnect all devices, have a look at device manager (or in Linux use lsusb) - Are the devices registered OK?
Then, try if the gamecontroller work. Also check the "extra" buttons (eg the "powerswitch" up-position presses F12).
If those things work, i'd assume the Keyrah is working OK.
Now carefully clean the connector/cable of the keyboard - a contact problem here can very well cause what you are seeing.
-
Is it really "endless"? With some cards, the initialization can take a bit

Looks like it is nothing trivial to implement
Unfortunately USB is like that
-
Keyrah V3 implements a "HID device with multiple interfaces" (2 Keyboards, 2 Game controllers, 1 Multimedia Control, 1 ACPI Power Control) - so that is what BMC64 needs to support. If it can't deal with 2 Keyboards, it should probably ignore the second one (which will be used for n-key rollover, ie when you press many keys at the same time)
-
A power issue perhaps? I'd rule that out first by booting some linux distribution on the raspi, and then check if it works with it. If it does not, then it is very likely a power problem.
Another problem could be that, since BMC64 is "barebones" (not running any OS) the problem might also be that it simply does not support the type of combined USB device that the keyrah implements? Does it support USB hubs? You'll have to ask the programmer
Edit: Just had a brief look at the BMC64 readme on github. I'd say that for it to work, you will have to select a regular USB keyboard and Gamepads. Do NOT select the existing "keyrah" config. Chances are however, that it will still require specific support in BMC64, due to how Keyrah V3 works.

These are my favourite Bugs

No, you need a proper C64 PSU

I don't want to disable "copy ROMs from C64" in the config, because I sometimes use JiffyDOS which is installed in my C64.
Please try that for a test though - it might give a hint on what the problem could be. Also remove the SD card for a test, see if that changes anything.
-
It could be a bad flash chip... If reflashing with update.exe does not do the trick, i dont know what else to test. Jens ?
-
Try what happens in standalone mode. If that makes it work, disable "copy ROMs from C64" in the config.
Really strange problem though
-
With V3 it is different, the Power LED shows the state the Keyrah is in:
- blinking: its initializing (happens during a short period at power up)
- on (ready)
- pulsating (connected computer is in sleep mode)
-
Oh wow Interesting error for something like this
-
By Monday i meant Thursday!
- restore settings
- emu drive 1: #8
- default cartridge: slot4
- VICII:ntsc
- write settings
- mount RR ntsc crt image (slot4)
loading programs from the file browser works just fine for me
*shrug*
-
I recommend waiting a bit - we are busy doing the final touches on Keyrah v3
-
I'll check (on Monday :)) how (or if) there is a difference when loading the RR image via crt... it *should* behave exactly the same
