The only problem i see there is that the auto detection of the VICII will not work correctly, which may or may not cause problems.
I don't know of any customers that have a "Kawari" though, so can't tell. Generally we can only guarantee (and recommend) original MOS ICs to work for that matter (but that doesn't mean others will not work - we just have no way to test all those replacements)

Technically.... a "pixel" does not equal a "dot" In the analog world, there exists a certain speed at which the beam moves from left to right and "draws" the screen. Now the chipset changes the color at a certain frequency, which produces the "pixels" (and the maximum frequency the chipset is capable of is what defines the horizontal resolution). Ideally this results in fragments that are as wide as high (ie square pixels), but in the real world this is often not the case (eg a bunch of "classic" PC resolutions for example are stretched or skewed in one way or another).
So yes, in the analog world "pixels" are basically "line fragments". However, when the signal is sampled and converted into digital (like Indivision does - and which is also what a modern monitor does with analog signals), each of those "line fragments" will (ideally) result in a single square dot, and the monitor will display a single dot per such fragment (if the resolutions match, else more scaling comes into play). And this is the reason for why some resolutions can not fill the entire screen on a modern monitor (without further scaling).

Power issues are a very real problem with the raspi, especially if you are running it overclocked, it barely gets enough power to work at all, without any peripherials attached - i'd look at that first.

What kind of Powersupply are you using? What else is connected to this setup?

The problem are the different color spaces of RGB and YUV - they dont overlap 100% (HDR fixes this for the most part)
PS: Just to make that clear and to avoid any misunderstandings: "HDR" is not something we can support in the near future, for various technical and economical reasons.

For C64 i still prefer my 1701 over any other solution i have seen, there is simply no match for the vibrant colors it produces (but as said, HDR may change this in the future)

The problem with that is.... normal RGB cant produce the same colors as a 1084. Perhaps with HDR it can be done, but thats yet another can of worms

If you close the jumper and turn on the C64, does it start up with 307something bytes free, instead of the usual 38911? Can you try the cartridge on another C64?

Your SIDs are fine, it's really just the POTX/POTY values that are slightly different because of the external capacitor.

This is normal - the paddle values are not what the test expects, not sure why.

A new cable being bad is not totally uncommon unfortunately...
Not sure what to do here... You can of course send the C64R to us for service - but if it then turns out to work fine and the cable was at fault, that might turn out a bit costly just to find that out
One thing that would be interesting to see - can you post the chip info from the remote menu? (see wiki on how to do this). And please also tell what exactly is written on your VICII (perhaps just post a close-up picture)

No, just normal s-video cable (that's the whole point of having that connector)
Are you sure cable and adapter are OK? Do they work with another source?
