coincidentally i was playing around with this in VICE at the weekend, so here is all you need:

It should be measured with the micromys connected though, without load it doesnt tell much
-
First time someone reports such a problem i think - being a popular product, we'd know by now if there'd be a problem with the micromys and Amiga. *shrug* What kind of power supply are you using? Do you have a multimeter so you can measure the 5V at the joystick port?
-
I see, will have to get another SDXC card for testing, the one i have does work as far as i can see *shrug*
-
By "loading other stuff" i ment using the Chameleon Menu of course - other cores will work totally different
-
and you can load other stuff from that card, just not boot.prg?
-
that sounds odd. make sure the filesystem is "clean" (run scandisk on it)
That said, i havent done a lot of testing with SDXC cards (which aren't officially supported btw, they just happen to work - sometimes).

Problem solved

To be crystal clear, I have a C64c with one socketed 6526A 4989 2161A on a rev A PCB, I can swap it with the CIA socketed on the Reloaded PCB next to the Joystick port correct?
Yes, all CIAs are interchangeable (6526A/B/C and 8521)

On social media, I read that the two CIA'S can be swapped is the correct?
like i said, swap them against each other - if one of them is broken then the problem will change (you might get a cursor, but now the disk drive wont work. or something similar. CIA1 is the one responsible for keyboard and the timer interrupt that makes the cursor blink)

the SID chip locks by pulling upwards, is this normal?
That sounds strange - all sockets are the same kind, lever down is "closed". In any case, while testing take out the SID, you dont really need it (except for sound of course)
Now, a simple test is to swap the CIAs against each other. If that somehow changes the behaviour, you know one of them is bad
-
1. never use contact cleaner
2. isopropyl is fine, however you still need to wipe over the respective contacts, which will be kindof hard inside the sockets
that means wiggling the ICs sideways is really the best solution. open the lever of the socket "halfway" in case they dont move easily.

Funky! welcome back

I think track is the minimum if you want to reproduce stepping offsets etc properly without overcomplicating it... and indeed, the stepping time should be enough to read it from sd card.
-
IPF can also be a mfm level image (it can be anything, cooked, bitstream or raw)
-
Quote
The amount of flux-level images that actually need to be one is likely to be finite
Probably close to zero even
-
working on a bitstream rather than flux should indeed be good enough for most things - most of the time you will have simple things like "a sector exists twice" or so anyway.
-
was this solved?
