I don’t have a ACA1234 but with the ACA1221lc connected to the ACA500+ Frontier Elite II runs smooth. I run the 1221lc at 42MhZ, but you need a good PSU to do this.

Now I’m testing with the Blizzard 1230 IV with 32 Mb ram connected to the ACA500+, it runs faster than the 1221lc and with the 1230 IV it’s possible to use the CPU-switch in the ACA500+ menu what isn’t possible with the 1221lc. With that CPU switch you can run a stock A500 68000 CPU without disabling any cards.

Till now I didn’t find a whdload game that doesn’t run with the 1230 IV 68030 CPU, on some demo’s and games I use the ‘Cache’ tool.

I have some spare time today. I'm not an expert but im trying to see with the tester if there's something strange on the connector and I have noticed that the first 2 rows of pins (the 2 up and the 2 down starting from the right side of the board with dismo facing up where there's the version of the board t502 V6 12 SEP 2018) are shortened. I mean if I try to touch the legs of the connector I find that they are not isolated but there is contact between these 2 up and 2 down connectors others on opposite are isolated. It's this normal? It's a little bit difficult for me to explain this in English it's possible to post a photo? Thanx for your time.

That aluminium tape might be something that's more common in the US, as there are many households with A/C and service on them is way more common. In Euope (at least "Germany and more northern"), A/C in a private building is very uncommon, so the tools and parts to service them may be much harder to find. So a part number, vendor or alternative source of the aluminium tape would be an interesting thing.

I did it a couple of weeks ago with copper tape, some keys (spacebar, L, M, cursor keys, -) of my A500 keyboard did'nt work anymore.

I bought a new hard membrame but it didn't help, same keys didn't work.

I had here some copper tape and used it on the 'plunger' of the bad keys.

Work's again like new, only one downside... when I play some pinball games... now with the working spacebar... TILT again :D

    Hey Jens,

Just let you know I received my 3rd CA-PSU today, connected to my A500 with ACA500+, ACA1221lc (40Mhz), ACE2b and Indi ECS V3.

Everything works fine, tested for about 4 hours.

Don’t know why in the German forum there are problems with the new units… :/

    Hi Jens,

Do you have an idea of when the CA-PSU might be available again?

Since a few weeks I have an another A12OO in my collection with original Commodore PSU, however when I connect this PSU to my expanded A1200 (Indi MK3, Blizzard 1230 IV, fan,...) I get a blurry image which I don't have as I use the CA-PSU.

I also want to expand this "new" A1200 with a new Indi MK 3 and a Blizzard 1230 IV that I still have here.

I would rather order this order in 1 time so that I do not have to pay transport costs twice.

If the two PSUs work on the respective target computers after swapping them out, it's most likely not a problem of the PSU itself. Many of the square power connectors are just corroded and by removing and re-inserting the plug, you have improved contact. I wouldn't be surprised if it still works after swapping them back.

I did a lot of removing and re-inserting the plug on the A1200 before I swapped the PSU with the A500 one.

    Still had the freezing picture.

But yeah, I can't surprise you :), after swapping them back A1200 <=> A500 everything works again, tested it now for 3 days without a single failure.

    Thanks

So today I got my two ECS V3s. First of all it was extremely fast shipping to Norway.

The picture quality on these are amazing! There is absolutely no ghosting. Extremely sharp and vibrant with no trace of ghosting/smearing. Extremely happy with the picture quality from the ECS V3.

Tested on my BenQ BL 702A. Using DOS demo, pinball dreams and various others that would show ghosting/smearing very clearly with the ECS V2. Again, ECS V3 has no trace of ghosting and is showing what I would call a perfect picture. I can safely recommend these to anyone.

Yeah, the picture quality is as sharp like with the Indivision AGA MK3 on my A1200

It's dream to use the A500 again all day. Even with Final Writer there's now a sharp text on the screen, couldn't say this with the ECS V2.

Still have the ECS V2 in his original box, don't really know what to do with it... just 1 year old and still in warranty.

Maybe if I can find somewhere a cheap A500PLUS, I can try it if the picture is better with it or I can try to sell it...

    Hi Jens,

This weekend I had a strange thing happen to the CA-PSU with my A1200.

I was playing Pinball Illusions AGA via WHDLoad and when I select a pinball table the A1200 freezes after a few seconds.

Then I turned off the A1200 for half an hour and tried the game again, now I could play for about 10 minutes before the image freezes again.

The A1200 has been expanded with a Blizzard 1230 IV 64MB, Indivision AGA MK3, CF HDD 64GB, PCMCIA card reader, original floppy drive and the monitor is an Eizo S1933. OS 3.2 roms are also installed.

What I've tried is the following:

    - replaced the 3.2 roms with 3.1.4 roms (I thought maybe a bug somewhere in the 3.2 roms -> no solution, still freezes)

    - Replace 64MB ram on the Blizzard with 16MB ram -> no solution

    - removing the PCMCIA card reader and floppy drive -> no solution

    - reconnect floppy drive and play the game via the floppy disks instead of WHDLoad -> no solution

The only thing I could try was to connect the CA-PSU of my extended A500 (ACA500+, ACA1221LC, ACE2b, Indivision ECS V3) to my A1200.

Once I did that and rebooted my A1200 I had no problem with the game anymore, just let it run for about 8 hours yesterday and it still works fine.

The CA-PSU that was used on the A1200 I have now connected to my A500 and for now everything will continue to work there, I will see what the future brings.

What could be the reason that one PSU works and the other has a problem only with that game?

I don't have any tools to measure the voltages, I'm a plug and play guy.

Since the Amiwest show the Icomp shop has been loading very slowly, I know you took the shop offline that weekend but since it's back online it takes much longer to load the site.

I have tried with different computers (Mac and PC) and different browsers.

I read on the german forum that this is also said.
