  • Hi. I got the Indivision AGA MK3 and I must first say that this is the absolute best picture I've seen coming from my Amiga! :)

It's working pretty well alas I'm trying to figure out what can be done about the screan tearing. Although this is my first post I have searched for an answer on how to tweak these settings in preference program, and I'm sorry if I've missed it in this forum.

I thought I had hit just the right spot when the tearing didn't appear for a few minutes, but then it came traveling very slowly from top to bottom. I initially used the Video Timings Calculator to insert the corresponding values within the IndivisionAGAmk3 1.11 prefs, which got it close but not close enough. I'm running an Indivision config with a VGA mode of 1920x1080@50Hz and the monitor I'm using is a Rog Swift PG32UQ connected over HDMI 2.1.

I've tried adjusting the pixel clock ever so slightly but unfortunately it keeps reverting to some kind of "closest value" as if the incremental steps I'm adjusting are too small. If it only sets on a pixel clock value at a certain number of steps I won't be able to hit the mark this way. Enabling vsync fixes it but also reduces the monitor refresh rate to 25Hz.

I took some screenshots which hopefully helps give away if there's a misconfiguration here.

And the configuration file itself: 800x600PAL(1920x1080-50Hz).zip

I would very much appreciate it if anyone could point me in the right direction of whether it's the screenmode, timings or maybe even the monitor itself?

    Thanks a lot!

  • You need Vsync, but I have never had success getting vsync to work over HDMI. I always have to revert to a VGA connector.

I wouldn’t mess with these settings though. I Just clicked Vsync and/or Autoresolution.

  • I tried auto resolution and it fixed the vsync line. Drawbacks I'd admit is a bit of a nitpicky thing on my part, with blury pixels and a vertically squished aspect ratio. The latter can be mended by forcing 4:3 aspect within the monitor's menu, but I need to set the Indivision to at least 1920x1080 to get crisp pixels.

I enabled Doublebuffer and that took care of the vsync line. This also means that hires screens are no longer fluid, but considering most Amiga software are running in lowres it's fine :)
