  • So I have to be missing something here.... I have the Indivision installed in an Amiga 500 and I've read through the documentation twice now.

I have a Dell 1600x1200 lcd monitor using VGA and I have gone into the Indivision tool and set 1600x1200 properly and I can see the on screen display showing as such..

It has two values however the first one on the onscreen display is telling me "pre 800x600" and the second line shows "pre 1600x1200".

I assume that the 1600x1200 is working as the on screen display is now much smaller.

What is the "pre 800x600" telling me? Its certainly not the workbench resolution....

So how do I actually change workbench resolution?

The only options in the indivision tool are the same built in modes that I've always had, I am currently using PAL High Res Laced (600x512)

In the System Prefs when I look at the screen modes, those are all the same as before, and in the Indivision tool it list all the same modes.

I'm trying to get workbench at something higher like maybe 800x600 with 256 colors? Is that even possible? (Amiga OS 3.2.2.1)

I thought getting 256 color workbench was possible with the IndivisionECSv4?

  • I do have an ACA1234 with MMU, So I just need to install the P96 driver and then install that SuperPlus screen mode?

This Amiga stuff is pretty new to me so you'll have to excuse my ignorance... I'm still trying to figure out all this graphic mode stuff...

When you install P96, you will need to ensure you have the IndiECS monitor in your devs/monitors drawer for P96 to recognise your ECSV4. I think you also need to 'add default modes' in the P96 Prefs before the extra modes will appear in 'ScreenMode'.

Once you have done that (and rebooted), you should be able to open ScreenMode in prefs, and select a resolution and number of colours that the IndiECS driver from P96 provides.

I guess I don't understand why this stuff is so hard to find? I feel like I'm on a secret treasure hunt all the time with Individual Computer stuff, lol...

Ok, so after half hour of searching this forum, wiki, download page, store page I cannot find a download link for the P96 driver or the IndiECS file. I can see it talked about and the post for the release of the new 3.5.0 driver, but not one single link to get it?

Sorry, I have to look up the cheat codes on the internet for this one.....

  • P96 v3.5 is a purchase from the icomp shop. Once purchased, you will be sent a link to the download, which includes the indiECS driver. It's not included as a free download with the ECS V4 I think because the whole solution is both hardware (the ECS V4) and commercial features from P96? It's not expensive anyway, and supports Amiga development.

It is hard because in modern systems, all this stuff is integrated and done for us. Having said that, I agree the website and forums are not always the easiest to find information either :)

  • Ooooohhhhhh, Its in the store, ok, that explains why I couldn't find it..

I will gladly pay IComp more money as they make awesome stuff! (Even if I can't figure out how to use most of it, lol)

  • Ok, so I have the P96 driver installed. It does not seem to include an IndiECS monitor file. I did find some other monitor files in the High GFX pack and moved those into Devs\Monitors...

In System Pref Monitor modes, I don't see any of these at all, just the normal ones.

I think this is because the P96Driver doesn't not see a PicassoIV card installed at all (Its just greyed out)

Just looking for some guidance for this overly complicated Indivision configuration....

  • I had to manually copy the IndiECS monitor driver, but now I can't find where I found it - maybe under Workbench:Storage/Monitors.

Anyway, to save you some trouble I have attached it here - remove the .TXT and pop this file into your Workbench:Devs/Monitors drawer, and then your ECS v4 should show up in P96Prefs.

    IndiECS.txt

You will need to also click the "Add Default Modes" to add all the resolutions, and once saved, you should see the IndiECS modes available in ScreenMode.

  • Thank you much, I think I also need to flash the Indivision V4 with the latest firmware but the wiki has been down most of the day, But once the Wiki is back up and I can get the IndiV4 flashed I will certainly give this a try!

  • Hmm, I have the IndiECS in "Monitors" folder. But I don't see any IndiECS modes in "ScreenMode" pref and in P96Prefs I see it greyed out. When selecting it there I see "Board driver not loaded".

    Am I missing something?

Check out the P96 forum here, Jens posted the steps needed to get this working. I haven't tried it yet but will have some time later today when I get home... (You need the P96 drivers, an iComp Accelerator with MMU, MMU drivers, etc...)

    This is the thread...

How to get the P96 driver to see the ACA1260 as a graphics card? (ACA500Plus)
