  • Just ran into an issue when trying to install the Indivision ECS in my amiga 500 Rev. 6A motherboard. It seems the pins in the CIA adapter are about 1mm shorter than the pins in the Denise pins. (3.3mm vs 4.3mm) The smaller pins in the CIA adapter result in a poor connection that only works when I press down on the chip, forcing it into the socket.

It appears the extra length is used to penetrate the PCB.

Is there a way to extend these pins?

  • It shouldn't be the pins, but some A500 sockets have a small "wall" standing up on the sides, which occupies the same space as the circuit board. So either another DIL socket in between solves it, or you cut down those small walls and have the same result.
