I don’t really know how to use the oscilloscope, never have the time to learn since the purchase. I’ll make some researches.

Hi
Is there anything connected to one of the ports, expecially the cartridge port? Is the on-board LED indicating anything?
=> Nothing is connected to the board except the video and power cable
The LED is off, not flashing.
Do you have a volt meter to check the regulated 5V?
=>I measured for :
- the CPU : 4,95v
- the VIC : 4,8v
- the CIA 1 : 4,98v
- the CIA 2 : 4,95v
- the SID 1 & 2 : 4,97v
If you log into the remote control menu and run memory test, is there any indication of an error?
=>There isn’t any error, all the tests are marked as passed.

Hi,
As asked, I create this new thread for my issue.
I didn't touch the computer for almost 2 years.
I wanted to try some demos this week but the C64 shows a black screen.
It is connected to a Sony PVM via a s-video cable. The video is synced because the monitor detected a 576i PAL signal but there is nothing on the screen.
The chipset identification shows all chips are ok :
VIC-II: 8565 (7F 00 AF55 PAL)
SID 1 : 8580 (DE 00)
SID 2 : 6581 (A0 CA)
CPU : PHI2 OK (0457)
MCU : 20180227
And I use the PSU bought with the board on your shop.
I reflashed the firmware and tried to use other roms files but with no luck.
I hope this will help.

I gave it a try right now. I still have a black screen.

I did it already.

Hi!
I have the same problem. I stored my C64rmk2 for almost 2 years because of my work.
This week, I wanted to test some demos and had a black screen. The chipset detection shows all the chips ok.
I tried to reflash the latest firmware but nothing changes. I also tried to use custom roms.Do you have any suggestions?

Hi Jens,
I did some tests this weekend.
I first swapped the VIC with that of one of my real C64s. The C64R got back to work. I was able to run a few games and demos. So I thought the VIC was faulty and started testing the real C64. But it works flawlessly and I ran the Dead Test 781220 cartridge for 8 hours with no issues.
There, I thought to myself that there must be something weird in the C64R. I ran the Dead Test cartridge on it and saw that maybe I have a problem with one of the CIA chips. After a few cycles, the test no longer displays the same time. At first it was after 2 or 3 cycles and after cleaning the chips pins, I can go up to an hour.
So I'm not going to send the card back now. I will first fix this problem with the CIA chip before.

Thanks for the answer

I've 12,11v with the F1

Hi Jens,
What do you think about my problem?
Can I fix it myself? Or should I ship back the board to you to check?
-
I measured the voltages when the led was blinking.

Unfortunately, i don't have a voltmeter.
The warranty ID is KTN2a
-
for the PSU, I use the one you sell.
I already tried to remove the chips and cleaned the pins but the issue came back after a few minutes.I also tried to replace the VIC chip with the one installed in my real C64 ou to use another PSU.

Hi all,
I’ve had a c64r mk2 since november 2019 and it worked very well until today.
When I start the computer, everything works fine.
VIC-II: 8565 (7F 00 AF55 PAL)SID 1 : 8580 (DE 00)
SID 2 : 6581 (A0 CA)
CPU : PHI2 OK (0457)
MCU : 20180227
But after a few minutes, i have a black screen.
A remote chipset detection gives me this output :Error: VIC-II is not recognized, check U19.
?
VIC-II: Unknown (D9 D9 0000 PAL)
SID 1 : 8580 (D1 00)
SID 2 : 6581 (8E B0)
CPU : Unknown (08CA)
MCU : 20180227
Can you help me with this?
Thanks,
Nhuan -
Hi,
I received the new SID today. With a quick try, the board recognizes it now.
Thanks -
Hi,
how can I order a 8580 without having to order another board? -
Ok, thanks!
i already have two of these adapters
