Sorted, I changed the NOGUIGFX to on in tooltypes and it solved it. It now looks like it should (and in 32 colours!).
Thanks for your help!

Yes the actual screen modes on WinUAE did the dithered look. Never mind, I'll just have to live with it or find another launcher for WhdLoad.
Thanks again!

It's the screen mode that is doing it. Used HD720 and the Highgfx screen modes in WinUAE and got the dithered version in both.

The only way I could get WinUAE to look like that was to use an 8 bit screen mode. 16 bit looked smooth as the picture shows.
Using the HD720 screen mode in 256 colours on the actual Amiga still looked dithered to hell.
Anyway it is definitely not the way it is stored on the HD as it is the exact same picture.
Thanks for your input guys.

Hi again, this is the image I see in WinUAE which is the same file on the same monitor.

Thanks for the reply. I have attached a picture of iGame which I use as a frontend for WhdLoad. The picture on it has loads of dithering which makes it look extremely poor. Is this just a consequence of the way Workbench displays pictures? Even if I up the colours to 256 it is still dithered.

Hi
Looking at a lot of pictures on my new (old) Amiga A1200 with Indivision AGA Mk2cr I see a lot of dithering. On my WinUEA install I can replicate this by choosing a 8 bit graphics mode. So can I get around this issue by using a setting in the software? I am using the HD 720 screen mode as that suits my monitor best but it is the same in any gfx mode I choose.
Can anyone shed any light on this please?
Thanks in advance.
