  • Hi,

I've just bought the ACA500Plus for my Amiga 500 Plus, but I am finding the included instructions unclear. Is it possible to use it like a hard drive? I would like to install the included Workbench 3.1 and games, software etc and then boot to it as though I had a real hard drive. I have a 2Gb CF card and have used the F7 installation menu, which I though would install Workbench and enable me to use a second CF card or internal disk drive to install software. But it doesn't seem to do this. After the ACA500Plus says the installation is successful it says to 'reboot as soon as possible' I do this and it goes straight back to the ACA500Plus menu (starfield menu). No Workbench. Am I missing something obvious or did I buy the wrong thing?!

  • Nopy - you only "install" from the "install menu" - that's not what you're choosing with the F1-startup option. Once you've made this choice, you won't see the boot menu on the next reset.

And before that question comes up: You need to press and hold the left mouse button during a reset if you want to see the boot menu again :-) (or power-cycle, but that's too PC-like...)
