  • Hi all,

I have an A2000 Rev 6 with an Ace2b, ECSV4, A2088 Bridgeboard and a V2 Vampire installed, and running Coffin OS v63. The ECSv4 is working, I can run the Indivision tool, and all my OCS/ECS screens come up.

I can install P96 v3.6, and the install recognises and automatically checks the IndiECSv4 driver for me. After installing and rebooting I have P96Mode in my Prefs folder, but If I open this, it does not recognise my ECSv4, and won't let me test any resolutions. P96Mode shows "No Boards", and if I run the FindECS tool, it tells me it can't find any IndiECS.

Alternatively, If I try to run P96Prefs from the install drawer, it tells me it could not fit in the screen. Changing to Super-High Res PAL mode, still gives me the could not fit in screen message. The ECS is working however, because I can see the Amiga native screen on both my RGB output and through the VGA output of the ECSv4.

I have tried uninstalling and manually removing all the Picasso96 and P96 files I could find, rebooting and reinstalling, but Im not sure if something is being left as the install defaults to 'update my installations' rather than first time install? If I manually choose 'First Time install' from the install, it again selects IndicECSv4 by default, and installs P96MODE, but is not finding the board.

Anyone have some clues or tips for what I could do please?

  • Ah - this might be something we can solve in the ECS V4 P96 driver. The Vampire card is known for capturing some chipset register accesses to use them for it's own chipset emulation. The config tool actually has a workaround for that, but the P96 driver doesn't implement that - yet.

So the root cause is your Vampire card, but we can work around that. The next version of the P96 driver will have that imeplemented.
