  • The new version 3.6.0 of the Amiga-RTG system P96 contains new drivers for Matrox cards (thanks to Tim Schattkowski!), Radeon R200 cards by ATI, and the budget version of RageXL cards with 32-bit memory interface, which are available for an affordable price.

The driver for the RTG mode of Indivision ECS V4 now uses the blitter for practically every OS-based graphics function. The Blitter is a major upgrade to the feature set of Indivision ECS V4: In addition to it's main function "flicker fixer", there's now "graphics card", and it's performance can be compared to Z2 cards from the 1990s. Details about all bug fixes and improvements can be found in the article about P96 of your technical Wiki.

Due to continued database problems with this shop system, the new version of P96 will be delivered through eMail.

There will be no shipments during our summer holidays between August 4th and August 15th. Shipping on August 1st is only possible for a limited product range, as many products will already be in a different storage location. Orders that are placed during our holidays will be shipped starting August 18th, 2025.

  • If it's super-urgent, just hit "answer" on your shop confirmation eMail (so I'll have the order ID in the subject line), then I'll send that right away. Otherwise, it'll be "in the next few days".

  • With the U.S. now going to charge customs duties on all incoming parcels beginning on 8/29/25, is there still time to place an order that would arrive at U.S. Customs before the 29th? Thanks

  • Just to make sure that we're talking about the same thing: Tariffs for imports from the EU to the US are in place since August 7th, and I could not find anything specific about your mentioned August 29th date.

I know that things change practically on a daily basis when your #$%!!-in-chief thinks he wants to make yet another 4D chess move before TACO strikes again. So again, I could not find anything about the August 29th date, but multiple sources for Augustr 7th.

In any case: Whatever you're paying in Tariffs, you should keep the reciepts. You may have heard about the court ruling of May 28th, 2025, ruling that the president overreached. This currently has appeal status, but tariffs are still charged. So your chance is that if it's ultimately ruled illegal, you can demand the money back. Or you can sell your *potential* claim now to a gambler who will pay a few cents per dollar now. Note that the Trump family fund(s) are rumored to be buying such claims, so even the inner circle is counting on tariffs to be illegal. A final ruling may take until next year, which may be close in terms of deadlines (314 days liquidation period plus 180-day protest period barely cover all of 2026). These periods are counted from the day of entry. Oh, and that's only the raw tariff that you may get back. UPS will keep their brokerage fees, as that's a real service that they provide to you. I have a hard time believing that they will part with that money, even if tariffs are ruled illegal.

Do with this info whatever you want - I'm not a lawyer and I'm nowhere near a position where I can make a recommendation. Even if you ask a local lawyer, it probably depends if (s)he leans MAGA or Democrat. Plus, asking a lawyer always costs big $$$, except if you have one in your family :-)

  • I'm referring to the repeal of the "De Minimis" Exemption on 8/29 that waive US customs duties on incoming parcels valued at $800 or less. I am no expert on this by any means, and I may be completely misreading the situation, but I believe that after the 29th, all incoming packages to U.S. will be charged customs duties. There are quite a few articles on this, here are two I read:

    https://www.easyship.com/blog/de-minimis-exemption-suspension

    https://stickiply.com/blogs/small-business-focus/us-tariff-changes-2025-de-minimis-impact?srsltid=AfmBOoqm1wiioM1ehoW6rgxoXBbsfZyeIiviF_Q3TnQgLIpZYjXbuJue

Hopefully I'm totally wrong about this as it's already very expensive to order parts for my Amiga from overseas, and there are not many options locally...

  • This seems correct - I was under the impression that the de minimis exemption was already wiped, but it's not. The deadline for "goods in transit" is really August 29th, 12:01 EDT, so the latest day we can ship for you is August 28th, and goods must arrive before September 17th, which is easy to achieve with UPS.

We did get a few requests for under-declaration, but I won't do that, as there are severe penalties for doing that. The usual way to prove the correct value is the bank slip, which with the US laws may not even be necessary, as they can just take a peek into your account. The SWIFT network is US-owned if I remember right, and the US was never about data protection - never was, and surely won't be with this administration.

  • Hi everyone! Nice to meet the memebers reading this and the devs.

Regarding the v3.6.0, I purchased it, but can't see it anywhere on the website or my mail. Should that not be instant download?

    Thanks,

  • Hello.

I run PiStorm32 Lite HDMI out and AGA MK3 HDMI out. Workbench 3.2.2.1 boots from the SD card on the PiStorm and goes into RTG mode. If I install P96 over it, it breaks everything and I have no modes. What would be the safe way to upgrade my Workbench install without breaking everything else?

  • Hi there,

Just wanted to find out if you are offering a discount on P96 software? On the P96 product page you have 12,96 Euro crossed out and replaced by 9,96 Euro. But when ordering it, the ordering page only allows a minimum of 12,96 to be entered. Thank you.

  • Just wanted to find out if you are offering a discount on P96 software?

It's "pay what you want", with a minimum price of 9,96 EUR. In other words: Yes, you're getting a massive discount if you choose a price of less than 17.15 EUR, as that's what 20,- DM (the 1996 shareware price) translates to inflation-adjusted for 2025 - not taking into account that massive improvements have been made over the past six years. I should actually raise the minimum price and the "recommended price" to something around 20,- EUR, so the constant losses on this project are curbed.
