  • Hello! Greetings from Geordie-land.

I'm interested in your Keyrah device, I'd just like to ask...is it's main use to create an emulated Amiga? You connect <> an Amiga 1200 case and keyboard to the device, then the device to the Raspberry Pi (which I guess is a good emulator). So is there a project description and a list of the parts, and method of assembly?

    Many thanks,

    Dave:/.

  • The soon to be released Keyrah V3 basically provides:

    - a keyboard interface that "converts" a retro keyboard (Amiga, C64, Atari-ST and some more) into a USB keyboard

    - a joystick interface that "converts" two DE9 joysticks (like C64/Amiga etc use) into USB HID gamecontrollers

Now what you actually use it for is up to you :) Using a Raspi is one possibility, but you can of course also use it at your PC.

However, we can not provide detailed instructions on building such a thing, its up to you :) I have long ago created a WIKI page that describes the setup of VICE/UAE a bit: http://wiki.icomp.de/wiki/Raspberry_Pi_Setup

  • Just into one UDB slot? Then the keyboard part, what's that like to connect? Is soldering needed, is it a plug and socket type thing? Many thanks for the time

  • Hi again! Does the board sit flush with the joystick ports on the case? If not are they extended, so as to fit? Then theres power to supply right? How would that work?

In an A1200 case, you mount it with the ports facing back. I believe the A1200.net case even has mounting screw positions for it, but you should check that with the case vendor.

Power is supplied via USB. You do not need an additional power supply - just the USB cable.
