For a couple of years I have had the joy of owning an ACA500Plus protruding from the side of my Revision 6 Amiga 500. I have a 4Gb Boot card with WB3.1 installed (I also have a different swappable 2gb WB1.3 boot card). I have a 4gb AUX card too so I can download Octamed mods and DPaint pics from Aminet and copy them over to my Boot cards Work: partition easily, etc. How much joy does that present to me in 2022? I'm deeply saddened because it appears that the boot slot on my ACA500Plus has ceased to work. (No bent bins) The cards are fine, they worked fine before, both WB3.1 and WB1.3, they both work fine in FS-UAE, they work fine when I boot from the AUX slot from ACA500Plus, so it would seem that the boot slot on the ACA500Plus has tilted! (Pinball Nightmare). Any insight from this expert community?

Can you take a high-res picture of the solder joints and post it here? Pins may not be bent, but pushed inside, which can be seen on the back of the connector.
Any incident, like an "evil cat event" or has the card been moved? Did it just stop working without changing cards, or was it after changing a card?

It was totally random, I hadn`t switched from wb1.3 to wb3.1 in weeks, (3.1 was in), I was playing a whdload game of Lotus III on one day and the next day I went to continue and it wouldn`t boot? I wondered if I had corrupted the card by switching off with a read/write light on but it works fine in AUX and on FS-UAE, also, my WB1.3 card which also works fine in AUX and FS-UAE and was no where near the fail event wont boot in boot slot. Thank you very much for considering the issue.

This picture is heavily stretched and not focused in the right area - please try with more light and the "macro" setting on, if your camera has that.
Where on the planet are you?

Hi Jens, my apologies for inadequate photo, hopefully these will serve better. I am in UK.

Hello again Jens,
After sleeping on the issue I woke up this morning with enough free time to take a really good look at the situation, it wasn`t readily apparent until I loosed the screws that hold the plastic guard rail in place over(under) the slots, when I removed it, it reveals that one of the pins has come disconnected from the board and there seems to be some disuniformity close to the edge (around about the second pin), also it looks as though the plastic housing has become un-soldered and loose on one side, I would appreciate any input from you guys. Thanks. Mark.

This looks like we need to replace the CF slot here. The one pin appears to have taken a hit from above, which should be visible in our QC photo. What's the warranty ID of the card?
in any case, the slot needs replacement. If you ship the card back, please don't forget an error description and make sure to declare it as "defective" with a low remaining value. Customs can be a pain. Please also see our hits for returns.
