I thought the Hewlett Packard chip was a SCSI controller? It is on the 4000T anyway.
-
The HP chip in the upper picture is Lisa, and it's the most reliable Lisa chip of the three possible vendors.

I'm thinking of buying the MK3, however, I see a lot of issues with it. Is the cold boot problem still an issue? Can't turn off the logo? Thank you!
-
Cold boot has been a solved problem for quite some time. Logo display duration can be set to 0 - and that was since the product was introduced.

Hi Jens, just in case it is useful information: I recently bought the Indivision AGA Mk3 for my A1200 and I'm also facing the cold boot issue.
The A1200 is fully recapped and apart from the Indivision it is equipped with an ACA1211 and a CF-card adapter on the IDE port, replacing the HD by a CF card. I'm using an after-market PSU (Link to known-bad Keelog thing removed).
After adding your 'indimk3reset' tool into the startup-sequence, upon cold-boot I'm now getting an output on screen, so the issue is fixed - although it's a bit unfortunate as this is only a workaround and not a real fix on hardware level.
Reading some of the threads in the forum on this topic, it seems as if the issue is likely related to the 5V rail being less clean/less stable than expected by the Indivision. Do you have plans for a new revision of the Indivision hardware rendering it less sensitive / more tolerant reg. the 5V rail ?

a real fix on hardware level.
Try a known-good power supply. Keelog uses the same chassis as many other known-bad PSU replacements. Please read our PSU FAQ to find out about the three key specifications that Commodore has put out, which are all violated by these PSUs.

Hi,
I have recently purchased the MK3 and installed it into 4000T
I have had to use the reset utility.
Have a 750w snow silent PSU, I’ve also tried and Corsair SFF 450w PSU and no matter what, cold boot will not initialise MK3. It’s fine for the most part but if I ever have a boot problem, I won’t have any display.I have a BFG which can accommodate additional boot rom data for loading libraries or such.
Maybe something can be put here to initialise the MK3
have you any more ideas on this matter?
I would like to add how thoroughly impressed I am with the quality of the output with this device. -

I have had to use the reset utility. Please let me know the Warranty ID and the purchase date, along with the reseller you bought this from (if not directly from us). We've been shipping the last Indivision AGA MK3 boards with new CPLD code that was developed on a machine that a customer was kind enough to send to us - I was finally able to reproduce the effect here and develop a fix. I'm assuming that you have a version that was still shipped with the old CPLD code, but I'd like to verify that.

I doubt that any of these are "fine". Please read our PSU FAQ about technical details why ATX power supplies are not a good idea for Amigas.

Maybe something can be put here to initialise the MK3It's just a few register writes, and the "MK3reset" tool is really small, so yes, your thinking is correct. However, somebody else will have to do that, as I'm not supporting hardware that other companies have made.

Thank you for the reply, on a weekend also!
My warranty code is FTGX as printed on the sticker and box.
the board is from Alinea computers and was purchased around 6 months ago.Is flashing the CPLD something I can do at home? I have done this before with various CPU cards.
I understand about only supporting your own stuff. And think the custom ROM idea should be a last resort. I would love to try your new CPLD code.
I will be purchasing an MK4 also when they land for my other Amigas. -

There must be a 5th digit. Note that the code is case-sensitive and may include other symbols such as $%&/ or similar.

The CPLD fix didn't exist then, so yo definitely have the original version.

The Jedec file isn't public. However, we have the JTAG updater, originally made for the ACA500plus, but it can also be used on other products to update the CPLD. Where on the planet are you? Note that we can't ship to the US any more, so if you're in Trump-land, you're out of luck.

Didn't comment on that, but I believe I should: There will be no MK4. The MK3 design has been successful for a very long time already, and I haven't found anything that I should improve on it (apart from the startup problems that a few customers reported, which are solved now). Customers seem to agree, as I'm getting daily questions about availability of the A1200 version.
So the decision to build the MK3 design without any changes came naturally - I just don't know what to improve.

Ah yes, quite right there.
It is FTGX/
I have my raspberry Pi all setup to flash JTAG stuff. I think I just need the .jed files and pin numbers / names? I do this regularly with some of my CPU boards.
If you would rather me ship to you I can do that, no worries.
I am from UK
I did read that MK4 was imminent? I would definitely agree with you that I don't see how it could be improved. It's the best Scan Dub I ever used and I have tried 4 or 5 different ones over the years.
I came up with a creative way to make sure I can get display, even if I had HDD failure haha, I copied the reset tool to the emergency floppy and modified the startup-sequence to ask about the firmware flash

A new production run is ongoing, but it's still the MK3 design.

Again, the jedec file is not public, and you'd probably have a hard time setting up the JTAG chain, as the FPGA is in there as well.

Still a customs border, but not as problematic as USA, so when I finally get around to publishing the JTAG updater, we'll have a small board that I can ship to you. Note that these are built to transfer the intellectual property only. The hardware itself should be returned within 12 months either to us, or to a reseller near you, so we can re-use it for other customers.

That’s brilliant! Yeah those pesky waters hey.
I am happy to return the device to you within a week once I’ve used it to flash my MK3.
Shall I drop you an email so I can be kept in the loop for when this happens?
BTW I really need a purple MK3 for my 100% purple Amiga 4000D
I spoke to you previously about this. Please keep me in mind when you do your next run. I would definitely buy an other unit but the colour scheme is strict in that build.Kindest regards
