I talked to the service company today, and they told me that although they confirmed delivery of the boards until August 15th, they haven't even started yet. Bad news is that they are going on holidays on August 16th. I'm thinking of driving there today, pick the parts up and give the contract to a different service company, depending on how long they are on holidays.
-
Thanks for your efforts Jens. What happened, did you went to a different company?
-
I gave them a grace period until monday, september 2nd.
-
The first Docking Stations V2 are in the shop now. Small quantity only, as the boxes haven't been delivered in time. New delivery date for those boxes is "week 39 if all goes well". This project is really pestered with delays..
-
Order placed for new docking station and a few other things!
-
Yay, ordered
-
Made my order too
I realy wonder how the midi is going to be implemented ... Would be fun to connect my FantomG and make some nice sid tunes again
-
Mine arrived yesterday, Quick enough delivery. All hooked up on standalone to a PC monitor. Love it.
Just need a C64 keyboard now to replace my PC one for C64 mode.
-
Damn it, sold out already. So, when will more stock be available?
-
So, when will more stock be available?
Stock is actually available, but we're waiting for new boxes to arrive. I have set the unit to pre-order with a "very safe" delivery date - you can place your order now.
-
Finally ordered mine, thanks Jens! One question tho... I tried to add to the order the minimig cable mentioned on Chameleon's description, but that cable is not on the store... how can I order it? Thanks!
-
Maybe you have the same mis-interpretation of that cable as others: It's for connecting the Docking Station to the physical Minimig board with Xilinx FPGA, the unit that is open-sourced. It has nothing to do with the Minimig core on the Chameleon.
The cable is currently not available in our shop, as too many people have misunderstood what it's actually meant for.

i have an awe32 with a 15 pin midi/joystick connector
i was curious can i run the dock out into the awe32 and take advantage of the soundfonts i use?output ->soundblaster awe32 ->better sounding music?
just curious
-
Sorry, that won't work. Only DB9 joysticks and real MIDI equipment will work.
-
so i cant midi out into a 15pin? use the windows midi in as (whatever it is when connect) and output through stereo on the sound card with my selection of soundfont?
-
what about something like this?
https://www.serdashop.com/Webw…l-MIDI-Module-Bundle.html
the 15pin on the soundcard is mpu-401 interface

That Dreamface thing looks like a real MIDI thing (MINI-IN only). No need for a 15-pin cable, ust use a standard DIN->DIN cable for MIDI application - and a core in the Chameleon that supports MIDI already. You won't get this thing to play back any C64 or Amiga songs unless they specifically support MIDI.
-
thanks, thats all i wanted to know.
i was just curious in itself if that was the case, does it support midi out through the c64, amiga, or PCecore
great product btw, i just got mine 2 days ago(the dock)
no problems with voltages or anything. im having a blast with this setup.
great work!
