  • To my knowledge, none of the TeraTerm-and-the-like patches used NMI. However, a test case may be possible by simply shorting RxD and TxD, enable Rx IRQ only, start sending out data and see if an NMI is issued (service routine could just INC D020). The 16550 is simple enough :-)

  • You mean Novaterm - TeraTerm is a windows program :) And yes, they use NMI - polling isnt really useful for a terminal program :) Novaterm/Desterm/Lunix are terrible testcases though. Guess writing some code for this is really the easiest way

  • you could use novaterm 9.6 like I do. Works perfect wit tc64 and silversurfer.

You have to know that Tobias created a test suite for the Chameleon that can largely run unattended, and that will output test results in formats that make publishing (like on the Wiki) much easier. With the amount of testing required for each new core, it used to be a hit-and-miss, sometimes even forgetting one test, but always hours if not days of testing.

If we're adding a "test case", it's ideally something that can be launched remotely, and that places results in a memory area where the remote PC, which runs all the tests, can pick them up without someone being at the computer.
